About me:
Say cheese!
This is me. ^
I'm fairly boring, actually. I'm a reader, a reviewer, a writer--
That's about it. Oh, I have a not-so-great job at the moment. I mean, I love the people I work with and my bosses are pretty nice, but it's not what I really want to do. (It's minimum wage, for a start.)
If I ever become rich and famous, I would not want to live in a castle.
I imagine it would be quite scary and lonely--and cold. o-o;
I would definitely:
-get a small, cozy home with a biiiig cozy library
-establish a scholarship fund for my alma maters
-contribute to the tuition of my siblings' college education
-INVEST (I actually hate shopping. Except for food. And books.)
I love books of all kinds. My favorites usually tend to be space opera, modern gothic, medical mysteries, cyberpunk, regency romance, and fairy-tale retellings. Recently, I've become eligible to receive ARCs, which means I get to review books that haven't even come out yet!
It's like year-round Christmas!
What else? I have a B.A. in Psychology. I speak passable Spanish. I like cooking and baking. I drink waaaay too much coffee and tea.

I also read. A lot. Presumably, you do, too.
I can be a harsh critic, but I try to be respectful. If not to the book, then to the author, at least. I don't respond to trolls, and I don't support authors that are known to troll. I don't like the entitlement that seems to walk hand-in-hand with certain authors getting published.
I'm sorry, but fame is not an excuse to be a jerk.
However, most of my readers--of both my books and my blog--are lovely people, even if they don't happen to agree with my opinions, and I, personally, haven't found this to be an issue so far.
Please, let's keep it that way.

Be respectful. :)

Our firm, Bostick Communications, distributes press releases via e-mail for our clients who are authors. These releases make contacts, such as yourself, aware of new books that are available for review.
ReplyDeleteWe would like to add you to that database to receive releases from our clients.
You will receive one press release per day on the average. You have the opportunity to specify certain genres that you are interested in to reduce the number of releases you receive, if you wish.
There is no obligation on your part and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Thank you for your time to consider our service.

I thought I replied to this. Sorry. -.-;
DeleteI think I'm following you?
I love your profile Nenia and I have to agree about the castle being lonely. Of course we all love and read books. Baking, yum. I like to bake when I find time too! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! Baking is so good. Of course, then you gain what I call "the baker's dozen" from eating too many muffins and pies!
DeleteHi! I've recently started a book blog too and ran into yours just now. I really like it! Could you check out mine at http://letstalkaboutthatbook.blogspot.co.uk/
